Frequently Asked Questions

Learn everything you need to know before getting started with online therapy in New York or Connecticut.

  • If anxiety has become your unwelcome backseat driver, burnout has you running on fumes, or old wounds keep showing up when you least expect them — that's your sign therapy may be useful. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you're tired of just getting through the day, it's time to get some support in your corner.

  • As a fellow Gen Xer, I understand being exhausted, overwhelmed, and carrying things from decades ago. I know that anxiety, burnout, and trauma in your 40s and 50s aren't just individual struggles. They're layered on top of aging parents, your own kids, careers, and relationships. I tailor my work specifically for a generation that was taught to suck it up and walk it off — but is finally ready to actually heal.

  • Think of the free consultation as a preview trailer for therapy. We'll have a quick call to talk about what's going on and see if we click. If I'm not the right fit, I'll personally connect you with at least two colleagues who might be. Finding the right therapist matters — and this is how we make sure we get it right.

  • You're resourceful — you've been figuring things out on your own for decades. But here's the thing: friends offer support, and the internet offers tips. Therapy offers something neither can. In therapy, you get a consistent, judgment-free space where we dig into the root of your struggles and build strategies that last. As a specialized trauma, anxiety, and burnout therapist, I bring focused expertise to every session.

    • Individual sessions: $300

    • Couples sessions: $480

    • Family sessions: $600

  • You can pay for sessions with a credit or debit card, or with an HSA or FSA. This makes it simple and secure, with no insurance hassles that could limit your treatment or compromise your privacy.

  • I don't accept insurance directly because your mental health deserves more than what insurance companies allow — no session limits, no required diagnoses, and complete privacy in your care. That said, I work with Thizer to help you navigate out-of-network reimbursement so you can potentially get money back from your carrier.

  • Sessions are 56 minutes and start on the hour. Weekly attendance is required because consistency is how we build a real therapeutic relationship and how you develop the habit of actually prioritizing yourself.

  • My schedule is built around the reality of a full Gen X life, with flexible hours that work around your busy days, early mornings, and late nights. I'm available Monday through Thursday from 4 AM to 11 PM, with all sessions starting on the hour.

  • We'll start by talking about what's on your mind. I'll help you identify what's most pressing, and together we'll map out how we can tackle whatever's been keeping you up at night — all in a space where your story matters and there's no judgment.

  • Right now, all sessions are held online via a secure video platform. In-person sessions may be available in the future — stay tuned.

  • My approach is integrative and holistic, meaning I don't rely on one single method. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    • Somatic Therapy

    • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)

    • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

    • Psychodynamic Therapy

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

    • Imago Therapy

    • Family Therapy

I also incorporate visual, audio, and performance art into our work together because healing doesn't always happen through words alone.

  • Everyone's experience is different and so is the timeline. Some people start feeling shifts within a few months, while others choose to continue longer for deeper, more lasting change. We'll check in along the way to make sure our work together is still meeting your needs.

  • Weekly sessions are non-negotiable, especially early on. Our generation's issues are complex, and intermittent therapy doesn't build the consistency needed for real, lasting change.

  • Clients must provide at least 4 days' advance notice for cancellations. For example, if your session is on Thursday at 2 PM, you'd need to cancel by Sunday at 2 PM. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee.

  • Supporting you through life's challenges is what I do — but providing official documentation for FMLA, gender reassignment surgery, custody matters, therapy animals, or similar requests falls outside my scope. If needed, I can hook you up with the right professionals who specialize in exactly that.
